Polyurethane materials assist in the localization of high-speed rail core components

Recently, the R&D team of Times New Material Polyurethane Material Technology and the R&D team of Hunan CRRC Times Communication Electric jointly developed the CTCS vehicle mounted responder and ground passive responder. They successfully passed the installation assessment and began small-scale supply, successfully achieving domestic substitution.

The CTCS onboard responder is installed at the bottom of the train, and the ground passive responder is installed on the railway line, serving as a signal transmission device on the line to send message information to the train.

The CTCS onboard responder and ground passive responder are both composed of a casing, circuit board, and polyurethane filling. Polyurethane material has the function of protecting the circuit board and ensuring successful signal transmission.

The ground passive responder does not have an external power source and is usually in a static sleep state. When the train passes over the passive responder, the ground responder receives the carrier frequency energy transmitted by the onboard antenna, which is converted into electrical energy by the energy receiving circuit for use as a power source during the responder's operation. This type of product is imported from abroad for a long time.

In order to break the monopoly of foreign countries, Times New Materials collaborated with Times Communication Company to develop polyurethane materials with low electromagnetic shielding, high hardness, and high toughness, which solved the impact of material packaging and molding on circuit board deformation. Both types of responders have passed the full set of performance testing and installation assessment of European customers, and the product's long-term performance is stable.

The successful promotion of this type of product is another major breakthrough for the company's polyurethane materials in the field of rail transit, accumulating experience for the engineering application of polyurethane materials in the electronic field.
