Shixin Basalt (Dalian) Technology Co., Ltd. is a holding subsidiary of Sino-British Company, and has been committed to the research and development, production and sales of basalt fiber composite materials for several years. Recently, the company and the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute have made a breakthrough in the research and development of new basalt composite plates - the tensile strength test peak is close to 90MPa. This means that the company's basalt fiber products will be the first to be applied in new energy vehicles.
The weight of new energy vehicles is an important factor affecting their endurance. Research shows that new energy vehicles reduce their own weight by 20%, can effectively increase the endurance of about 5%-10%, save about 15%-20% of the battery cost, can effectively reduce energy consumption, so automotive materials are gradually from traditional materials (steel, cast iron, etc.) to lightweight, high-performance, diversified, green and environmental protection of advanced materials development. Basalt fiber is known as the "green new material in the 21st century", basalt fiber reinforced composite material is basalt fiber as reinforcement, resin base or cement base as matrix composite material.
In the research and development process of basalt fiber composite materials, Sino-British company repeatedly carried out the test of the battery pack's structural performance evaluation conditions such as extrusion condition, vibration condition, mechanical impact, simulated collision, mode, and rigid strength, as well as the environmental reliability test verification such as wet heat cycle, water immersion safety, and temperature impact. The research and development work has achieved satisfactory results. The reverse analysis test stage of raw materials has been completed, and the optimization stage of material selection and formula ratio has entered. In this experiment, the tensile strength of the sample tested is close to 90MPa, the elastic modulus is close to 32GPa, and the sample has high strength and stiffness. Meet the "safety requirements for power batteries for electric vehicles" (GB 38031-2020) standard and the battery pack cover with plastic steel product development requirements, will achieve the first application of basalt fiber products in the field of new energy vehicles, give full play to its resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, light advantages, help China's new energy vehicles high-quality long-term development.
